[ Overview ] – 9 / 10

Bike has got some amazing looks .. looks meaty n mean tough is much lighter in comparison ( advantage )

Its got the most amazing Rare tyre on Indian roads .. nothing more meatier available in stock even d avenger houses a 130/90 profile

So full marks to the tyres ..so my first view about the bike is … thumbs up !

Now for the Real test in performance …

[ Engine ] – 8 / 10

Javed (new member of MBC and my old buddy from my diploma days ) thanks a lot for the opportunity you gave me to get my dirty racing n ripping hands on to your all new 450 kms done FZ 16…

With R15 in my hands for past 3 months speeds of 100 have been like a routine .. so when I got my hands on the FZ I expected the same response but I forgot well its a all together a different bike Sport Cruiser ..

The engine has a good throttle response compared to other bikes, I could feel the refinement of the Yamaha engine from the very first push … its a silent engine churning out 13.8 ps, so full marks to d engine n refinement ..can push it to 110 kmph

For people who ain’t sure of the conversion 1 Bhp = 1.0143 Ps

[ Gear Box ] – 9/10

The gear box is the next amazing thing in the bike … its silky smooth it reminded me of my old avenger which after 30k kms gave me the same smooth feeling …

[ Handling ] – 9/10

This was the most amazing part and the biggest surprise is for people who wish to corner bikes this motorcycle gives you the opportunity to enjoy cornering .. you always feel in control, the rear tyre does wonders to your confidence not to forget the balance of the bike n weight distribution all the factors count Yamaha engineering have done a great job in reducing weight by using plastic as alternate material at places like the tank.

[ Seating Position & comfort] – 9/10

The position is amazingly cozy just found the seat to be a little hard – would have preferred a softer seat .. the straight handle bar give you the macho feel n you really feel the king of the road until you want to push the bike at high speeds !

Legs were in a good position so I wouldn’t mind going 800 kms in a day on this motorcycle ..no back aches and hands did rest comfortably on the handle bar as the air kissed over my face … the naked look has no aerodynamics like R15 so u can feel all d air on your chest !

[ Mileage ] – 7/10

Yamaha has always been known for performance so don’t expect much out of this bike .. ridden in the correct manner this would churn out 45 km pl .. its kind of less for 150cc bike but .. remember the broad tyre you always wanted comes at a compromise condition, it adds drag to the bike so a 100/90 setup would have offered you a better mileage but Yamaha isn’t concerned they have a winning bike in terms of performance looks & mileage you sure can expect a Fi version of FZ which mite churn out a little more power with a better mileage figs.

Missing things

I would have really loved a little more power on the machine for the meaty looks it lacks power … 14 ps proves a little less when fellow riders are using karizma /P220 & R15 .. It gets kind of difficult to keep up to them though they are never out of sight ..!

[Conclusion] – 8/10

Rest everything works well for the bike ..the fancy speedo to the new developed radial tyres the front brakes everything seems to be in the right place for the price, its the best by in its segment …

I would rate FZ 16 as 8/10 best buy considering comfort & mileage & the price !
